On February 12, the regular meeting of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine took place.

In today’s globalized society, multilingualism is becoming more important than ever before. While being bilingual is certainly an asset, being able to speak multiple languages can provide numerous benefits that go beyond just better communication.

On February 6, 2024, at the initiative of the head of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the National Healthcare University of Ukraine named after P.L. Shupyk, Professor Savoliuk S., an interdisciplinary seminar was held for second-year resident doctors and surgeons of the surgical clinic of the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital N. 8 on the topic: "Skin Tumors: Surgeon's and Pathologist's Synergy".

Among the numerous scientific directions actively pursued by the collective of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine under the leadership of its head – honored doctor of Ukraine, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Savoliuk S.I., a direction that stands out for its complexity and modern surgical technology is simultaneous (combined, hybrid) surgery of the abdominal cavity, retroperitoneal space, and pelvis, which is implemented at the clinical bases of the department.

Every year on February 4th, World Cancer Day is observed, which was established in 2000 at the first World Summit Against Cancer held in Paris. Signed by heads of state and leading medical centers, the Paris Charter for the Fight Against Cancer brings together scientists, practicing physicians, the public, and government bodies to conquer one of the most dangerous pathologies – cancer.

The Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery continues its active clinical and scientific-methodical work, expanding its capabilities and exploring new clinical facilities. Currently, there is active preparation for the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine and the private multidisciplinary medical center 'MEDHELSI.'
