In March 2023, the 9th edition of the ITLS (International Trauma Life Support) textbook "Prehospital Trauma Care" was published, translated into Ukrainian. The authors of the original textbook are Professors Roy L. Elson, Kai G. Gan, and John E. Campbell.
The scientific translation and editing of the Ukrainian-language edition of the textbook was performed by the staff of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the Shupyk National Medical University of Ukraine. The editor-in-chief of the translation was the Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine, Doctor of Medical Sciences A.O. Volosovets.
The original text of the book in the new edition has been updated to reflect the latest recommendations of the American Heart Association and the International Resuscitation Committee (AHA/ILCOR) on mechanical ventilation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, guidelines from other international advisory groups, as well as the latest data on primary care for patients with trauma.
The textbook is written for students of higher medical education institutions of Ukraine, emergency physicians, paramedics, nurses, and doctors caring for patients at the prehospital stage.
