On July 15, training for doctors continued with elective sessions organized by the Department of Cardiology at Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine. This event was conducted for cardiologists, family physicians, general practitioners, neurologists, endocrinologists.

Such meetings are held to promote the dissemination of evidence-based medicine and update knowledge among the medical community regarding the latest advances in the medical field in order to provide patients with access to the most effective methods of diagnosis and treatment, in addition, these meetings promote the exchange of experience and interactive cooperation between doctors.

The Saturday symposium began with a presentation by Prof. Mykhailo Oros on «Stroke Prevention. The view of a neurologist». During the lecture, the speaker focused on cardiovascular diseases that can contribute to stroke occurrence, different clinical manifestations of stroke, accurate diagnostic pathways, modern treatment approaches, and appropriate pharmacological prevention.

Prof. Olga Morozova conducted a master class on "Chest pain as an interdisciplinary problem." Special attention was focused on the differential diagnostic criteria for musculoskeletal pain in the region of the heart.

During the last meeting, a lot of questions came from doctors. And many concerned the treatment of diabetes using modern medications that have a positive impact on the cardiovascular and renal systems. How to prescribe correctly, what indicators need to be monitored, what international experts say about new changes, how the treatment of diabetes affects other systems and organ? All these questions were answered by PhD Konstantin Zuev and also discussed cardio-renal and metabolic disorders in type 2 diabetes and emphasized treatment priorities in accordance with recommendations.

Almost every week, the medical community discusses the results of new research, leading to changes in treatment recommendations for various conditions. Prof. Maryna Dolzhenko dedicated her presentation to the changes in hypertension treatment based on the recommendations of ESC (European Society of Cardiology) in 2023. Knowledge of these innovations helps medical professionals improve diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for hypertension, thus enhancing patient outcomes.
