An important component of the training of the civil-military formations of the territorial defense and the military armed forces of Ukraine is the practice of practical skills in providing emergency medical aid under the conditions of the enemy's use of means of destruction with an unknown agent, namely radiation, bacteriological and chemical (NBC) factors.

The primary sections for training should be: identification of the agent, collective and individual means of protection, carrying out medical triage, decontamination of personnel and victims, features of providing emergency medical aid under the specified conditions.

On January 20, 2024, specialists of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medical Training of the Medical Faculty of the P. Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, Professor N. Iskra, associate professors O. Mazurenko. and I. Slychko delivered lectures and held a master class on NBC issues at the "Civilian Training Center for National Resistance" in the Desnyan district of Kyiv with reservists of a separate territorial defense brigade. The brigade is part of the "North" Regional Directorate of the territorial defense brigade.

During the defense of Kyiv, the brigade fought in the Brovary and Gostomel directions, in Buch, Irpen, Moschun and Chornobyl, and now the units of the brigade are fighting in the east of Ukraine.
