On April 25-26, 2019, a scientific-practical conference with international participation "Actual problems of diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases and autoimmune conditions in children" was held, conducted by the Department of Pediatrics №1 with the direct participation of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education and with the support of the National Children's Specialized Hospital " OKHMATDIT ", dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the foundation of the National Children's Specialized Hospital "OKHMATDIT", and the 90th anniversary of continuous cooperation with the hospital of the Department of Pediatrics №1 of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.

("New opportunities to achieve control of asthma in adolescents")

Widespread discussion was caused by reports by the head of the Department of Pediatrics №1, Professor Okhotnikova O.M., Head of the Department of Faculty Pediatrics of the Zaporizhzhya State Medical University, Professor Nedelskaya S.M. based on modern international guidelines and their own long-term clinical experience.

The conference was attended by more than 230 doctors of different specialties: pediatricians, allergists, pulmonologists, family doctors, immunologists, rheumatologists, intern doctors, postgraduate students and clinical residents.

   Six sessional sessions were held, separate time was allocated for the reports of young scientists, poster presentations of young scientists.

In general, over 40 reports on topical issues of pathogenesis, clinic, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of childhood pathology from the point of view of international guidelines have been heard and discussed. At the end of each plenary session there was a lively discussion of the issues that aroused during listening to the reports.

The relevance of the conference topics is due to the increasing prevalence of allergic and autoimmune pathology, involvement in the process of various systems of the organism. Therefore, the information was important not only for allergists and rheumatologists, but also for doctors of narrow specialties (immunologists, infectious diseases,pulmonologists ) and primary care physicians - pediatricians, family physicians. At the conference, many clinical cases were considered, and specific practical recommendations were provided.

The conference was another step in advancing the concept of evidence-based medicine and continuous training of doctors. 

All participants at the end of the scientific and practical conference were awarded certificates.
