Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery Shupyk NMAPE headed by Chief of Department - S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr. Sc., Full Professor) has been cooperating with well-known bariatric centers in Turkey for several years.
In July-August 2018 the first working visit for the purpose of training and exchange of experience of scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery (V. Lysenko, M. Krestyanov, D. Zavertylenko, A. Glagolieva, S. Yusifova) to Turkey (Istanbul) at Istanbul Bariatrics Clinic (based at Acibadem Fulya Hospital), headed by Professor Mehmet Ali Yerdel - this medical center specializes in laparoscopic bariatric surgery, including gastric resection, in the treatment of morbid obesity and metabolic syndrome.
In August 2019, a second working trip was held with the purpose of training and exchange of experience of the graduate student of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery, surgeon D. Zavertylenko (Research supervisor - S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr. Sc., Full Professor)) to Turkey (Istanbul) at the Medistate Kavacik Hastanesi Clinic. D. Zavertylenko completed a weekly course in bariatric surgery under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Emin Ersoy (Head of Surgical and Bariatric Departments).
Nowadays graduate of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery Shupyk NMAPE - Yusifova Sevinj (Research supervisor - S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr.Sc., Full Professor)) works as a doctor at the Medistate Kavacik Hastanesi Clinic.
The result of a long-lasting and friendly collaboration in the near future will be the publication on theme of a Bariatric / Metabolic Surgery in international journal (Scopus indexed).
