According to Oxford Dictionaries, climate emergency can be defined as “a situation in which urgent action is required to reduce or halt climate change and avoid potentially irreversible environmental damage resulting from it”. Evidence shows that human activity and our use of fuels like petrol, diesel, gas, and coal is highly likely to be the main cause of global warming.

When these fuels are burned they release greenhouse gases which trap heat in the earth's atmosphere, causing the air and seas to heat up which changes the climate.

Thus by conducting our classes and discussing the key issues we contribute to preventing the global warming and saving our planet for the next generation.

On a recent day, Liudmyla O. Saienko, Assistant Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages, presented the lesson part, which highlighted the “Climate Emergency” subject. The case touched the topic of climate change, air pollution, animal habitats, deforestation and the participants discussed the major human activity effects on the natural surroundings. The learners were introduced to some of the main issues related to climate emergency and were engaged in the education process. They worked individually and in pairs or small groups. A range of discussion-based lesson activities, such as special ESL/IELS (British Council) exercises and even songs, were presented.

By the end of the lesson the members of the audience were able to master grammar and vocabulary skills, and everyone was involved in discussion about the most important environmental problems and the solutions, sent the messages to others.
