On October 9, 2020, the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (NMAPE) hosted a scientific-practical conference with international participation "Continuous professional development of doctors and pharmacists in the context of health care reform."

The organizers of the event managed to gather unique leaders in education and science in the field of health, who in the main 26 reports of the conference program presented the best achievements of 13 institutions of higher and postgraduate education, involving more than 200 scientists, educators, medicine and pharmacy practitioners to participate in the conference. The event was held online with a live broadcast of the main reports of the program on the Youtube channel and using the capabilities of the information platform Zoom.

The conference was opened with a welcoming speech and report by the chairman of its organizing committee, rector of NMAPE named after PL Shupyk, academician of NAMS of Ukraine, Professor Yuriy Voronenko, who emphasized not only the advanced achievements of modern postgraduate education and continuous professional development of doctors but also on the existing problems, connected, first of all, with search of optimum mechanisms of financing of educational system in a field of public health services and preservation of its personnel scientific and pedagogical potential. Professor Volodymyr Krasnov, the Head of the  Pedagogics, Psychology of Medical and Pharmaceutical Law Department of the Faculty of Advanced Training of Teachers of NMAPE named after PL Shupyk was the event moderator.

The conference was continued by the speech of the First Vice-Rector of NMAPE named after PL Shupyk, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Yuriy Vdovychenko, who noted that today the entire medical field is at the crossroads between two systems: traditional, which Ukraine is accustomed to and the new one which  implementation requires political will and a significant amount of resources. Currently, Ukraine has partially decentralized the Continuous development model by updating legislation, and now the responsibility for the development of physicians has been shared among the main participants: educational service providers, educational institutions, health care institutions, and the physician.

 The program of scientific reports was continued by the speech of the dean of the faculty of advanced training of teachers of NMAPE named after PL Shupyk, doctor of biological sciences Larysa Babintseva with a report on "Global changes in pedagogical strategy of knowledge transfer in continuous professional development of doctors and pharmacists in a pandemic conditions."

Professor Oleksandr Volosovets, Head of the Department of Pediatrics №2 of NMU named after O Bogomolets, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, noted that in a pandemic situation it is necessary to introduce distance education and simulation training in the clinic to get professional staff. Distance learning opens up greater access to knowledge and provides a flexible schedule for acquiring the necessary skills, so the transition to digital education and quality control is a pressing issue today.

 

Professor Raisa Korytniuk, Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy of NMAPE named after PL Shupyk, devoted her report to andragogical approaches in distance learning of pharmacists, noting that the methodology of modern education should combine systematic analysis and synergistic synthesis. Methods of interactive learning - one of the foundations of the andragogical approach, and the technological support of educational processes is of particular importance for the modern acquisition of knowledge. 

Professor Oleksiy Ryzhov, Head of the Department of Medical and Pharmaceutical Informatics and New Technologies of ZSMU, in his report shared the methods of structural organization of cloud-based educational environment and noted that thanks to this implementation students can continue their studies without losing precious time. And Serhiy Soshinsky, Healthcare MBA, CEO of accemedin.com, noted that in the near future distance learning methods on different platforms will become more and more popular. This allows you to increase the mass consumption of content (for example, one lecture can gather up to 12,000 students), save time, reduce the cost of the course. The growing popularity of distance learning suggests that digital education is the future.

 

Professor Gennady Apanasenko, Professor of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine and Sports Medicine at PL Shupyk NMAPE, is convinced that the new training strategy can solve almost all the problems of the modern health care sector. But as the approach paradigm changes, from the "disease industry" to the "health industry."

The participants were very interested in the speech of Iryna Senyuta, Doctor of Law, Head of the Department of Medical Law of Danylo Halytsky LNMU, on the topic "New tools of medical reform: legal analysis".

Extraordinary and bright were the reports of the head of the Center for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support of NaUKMA Serhiy Bogdanov on "SETA - transdiagnostic approach to psychological care", as well as associate professor of electronics and computer technology of Sumy State University, associate professor Yuri Zuban with the topic IT solutions for medical education: the experience of SSU ".

In general, the speakers devoted their speeches to the challenges and prospects facing the system of health care training, analysis of global trends in the field of continuing professional development of doctors and pharmacists, ethical and legal issues and priorities of medical and pharmaceutical education, as well as pedagogical and psychological aspects of training doctors and pharmacists. Of course, the issues of acquiring knowledge in the context of the global COVID-19 pandemic remain relevant.

At the end of the conference, the moderator of the event, Professor Volodymyr Krasnov, summed up the work, noting that the system of postgraduate education in Ukraine has changed forever - increasing the responsibility of the employer who forms the educational order: from now on it is necessary to analyze factors influencing , check the effectiveness of training and create in the workplace the necessary conditions for the application of acquired knowledge. So today we can talk about a new system of responsibility for the quality of education and financial losses that can be caused by poor knowledge.

The conference was closed by the corresponding member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Yuriy Vdovychenko. In his closing remarks, he stressed the relevance of the issues discussed at the conference, which was successfully held in the current environment, on the basis of a modern information platform and received a significant number of positive reviews. Professor Yuriy Vdovychenko also thanked the organizers and inspirers of this event, first of all, the rector of NMAPE named after PL Shupyk, corresponding member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Yuriy Voronenko, as well as the general information sponsor of the conference - platform "Aksemedin" and participants , emphasizing that the successful experience of holding this scientific-practical conference in online format will be taken into account and used in the Academy in the future.

The success of this event once again proved the importance of close interdisciplinary cooperation of professionals, representatives of science, education and practice, who share common interests in finding the best ways for professional growth of health professionals that meet the best interests of society and everyone. who applies to the health care sector for medical care and hopes to receive the highest quality medical service from highly qualified specialists.
