On April 21, 2021, the British-Ukrainian Symposium (BUS 13) "Topical issues and innovative technologies in anesthesiology and intensive care" started its work.

The forum was opened by Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine Vice-Rector for Science Professor N. Savychuk, who conveyed congratulations to the participants of the Symposium from the Rector of the University, academician Y. Voronenko and noted the importance of such a large-scale scientific event. One of the BUS project initiators Dr. R. Cregg, President of the Ukrainian Medical Association of the United Kingdom, and professor O. Loskutov, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care joined the greeting.

BUS 13 is organized by the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine. The symposium is held with the assistance of the Association of Anesthesiologists, Perfusiologists and Intensive Care Doctors of Ukraine, the Association of Anesthesiologists of Ukraine, the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Feofania Clinical Hospital, the foundation for Assistance to Respiratory Medicine, the Ukrainian Medical Association of United Kingdom. More than 1,700 participants of the symposium from different regions of Ukraine and foreign countries are registered.

On the first day, sections of refresh courses, "Anesthesia, Analgesia and Sedation", "Topical Issues of COVID-19 Intensive Care" and "Topical Issues of Transplantology and Organ Donation" were held. Among the speakers were R. Cregg, L. Krivski, M. Basil (United Kingdom), O. Turkot (USA), E. Boselly (France), Ukrainian professors V. Cherniy, O. Loskutov, O. Halushko, M. Trishchinska, S. Dubrov, I. Lesnoy, Yu. Kobelyatsky, D. Dmitriev, and others.
