The XXII international scientific-practical conference “Multimodal mechanisms of prevention, pathogenesis, and management of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases” took place on April 21-23, 2021. The topic of the conference was devoted to the problems of the management of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases, such as stroke, arterial hypertension, degenerative diseases of the nervous system.

Oksana Kononets, Associate Professor of the Department of Neurology No.2 of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, took part in the conference with the report on the topic “Rare clinical and neurovisual features of nervous system involvement in renal pathology”. In her report, Oksana Kononets provided a summary of the nervous system involvement in renal pathology. In particular, she focused on the effects of nervous system disorders, particularly the autonomic nervous system, on the renal function and vice versa, and the interactions between these two structures. She paid special attention to the diagnosis and prevention of the Dialysis Disequilibrium Syndrome and Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome due to them being very difficult to reverse and having a high mortality rate.
