The main clinical base is the Children's Clinical Hospital (ССH) № 9 in Kyiv. CCH №9 hospital has 170 beds and has 8 sections:admission, diagnostics, rehab and 5 sections for inpatient treatment.

Children's Clinical Hospital № 9, in addition, works as a specialized consultative city clinical institution of the gastroenterological profile.

The clinic is also the base for the city pediatric gastroenterology consulting center and the for the city center of prevention and treatment of diseases of the oral mucosa and periodontium. With the initiative of the department and the support of the UNICEF International Children's Fund, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the P.L. Shupyk NMAPE the Youth Friendly Clinic has been operating in the CCH №9 since 2010. According to the order of the Kyiv City Administration, CCH №9 is the base hospital for the “Epidemic surveillance station for Influenza”.

The pulse oximeter and spirometer are used in the hospital to diagnose the severity of respiratory failure, and a daily Holter monitoring of ECG and blood pressure is also performed.

In recent years, a mathematical model for predicting the development of Helicobacter bacterial infection in children (information significance of medical, biological and socio-hygienic factors) has been introduced, a mathematical model for predicting recurrent course of acetonemic vomiting syndrome, and mathematical models for prediction of elevated or high risk of development of multiple erosive lesions in gastric mucosa and the mucous membrane of the duodenum, as well as gastric hypoacidity with chronic gastroduodenitis in adolescents requiring differentiated treatment and preventive measures.

On January 1, 2010 an agreement on cooperation had been signed between the State institution « O.M. Lukian Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (Department of Liver Diseases and Digestive Organs - Head Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor M.F. Denisova; Department of Medical Problems of Healthy Child and Premorbid States –Head, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, WHO National Coach on Integrated management of childhood diseases, Head doctor for adolescents of the National Academy of Medicals sciences L.V. Kvashnina; Department of Neonatology – Head, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, President of the Association of Neoatologists of Ukraine, Honored Doctor of Ukraine Znamenskaya T.C.). The above-mentioned heads of departments are also staff of the department of childhood and adolescent diseases of P.L. Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education

A cooperation agreement was signed with the private joint-stock company “Dobrobut Medical Center” on 01.07.2010. The center has 6 polyclinic and 3 inpatient sections equipped with modern diagnostic and medical equipment.

Therapeutic and diagnostic possibilities are expanded by cooperation with the Kharkiv Specialized Medical Genetic Center (General Director, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor O.G. Grechanina), and the «Ukrainian scientific and medical center of osteoporosis problems » of the  D. F. Chebotaryov Institute of Gerontology (Director of the Center, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor V.V. Povorozniuk), agreements with which were signed in 2015 and 2016.

Morphological, morphometric, immunohistochemical studies were performed according to the concluded agreements in 2016, 2017, 2018 in the laboratory of the Department of pathological anatomy №2 of the O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University under the direction of Dr. med. Prof. Gichko S.G., Head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy # 2, who is the President of the Ukrainian Association of Pathologists and who has a close collaboration with the Carl-Thiem-Klinikum Cottbus gGmbH ( Academic School of Charite, Cottbus, Germany).

The medical-educational process is carried out with the use of new forms, methods and achievements of medical science with the introduction into practice of health care institutions. The staff of the department take an active part in the work of the city, regional and Ukrainian associations of pediatricians, the Ukrainian Association of Neonatologists, the Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Gastroenterologists and Nutritionists, the Ukrainian, European and World Pancreatology Club. The assistants constantly supervise patients in outpatient and inpatient departments.

The department introduces new treatments in the sections. The department conducts development and expert evaluation of effective methods of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients; testing and putting into practice medicines, medical instruments and equipment (bioptron and ultrasound apparatus, pulse oximeter, spirometer, daily Holter monitoring of ECG and blood pressure).

Employees of the department organize and participate in seminars, clinical, scientific and practical conferences, work in expert commissions, consultations, medical councils and measures for quality control of the medical-diagnostic process. Head of the department Professor Beketova G.V., Professor Kvashnina L.V. and Professor Znamenskaya T.K. as a part of a group of leading specialists of Ukraine at the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine participate in the implementation of the national project for the continuous education of pediatricians, family doctors and specialists in different regions of the country.

Head of the Department Professor Beketova G.V. is a member of the Coordination Councils on the implementation of the WHO / UNICEF "Child Friendly Hospital" strategy of issues of providing medico-social assistance to teenagers and young people and "Integrated management of childhood diseases" (pediatrics). Professor Beketova G.V. is also the Deputy Chairman of the permanent working group of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine regarding cerebral palsy.

Professor Kvashnina L.V. - Member of the Coordination Board for the implementation of the WHO / UNICEF “Integrated childhood Disease Management strategy” (pediatrics).

Professor Znamenskaya T.K. - Member of the expert commission of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine regarding cases of death in women during pregnancy, childbirth and at postpartum period.

Assistant Holotsvan O.A. - expert-consultant to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and WHO / UNICEF International Children's Fund in regards to providing medico-social assistance for teens and young people and a member of the youth friendly clinic certification committee.

Head of the Department Professor Beketova G.V. is a member of the central certification committee of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and Professor Kvashnina L. - Member of the certification committee in the Department of Health of Kyiv.

For the period from 12.2018 to 04.2019 the staff of the department treated 53 inpatients, 177 inpatients and 389 outpatients were consulted, 63 conferences and 54 rounds in the clinical bases of the department were conducted as well as 133 diagnostic examinations were carried out.

The staff of the department participated in 13 clinical conferences and 5 expert committees of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and also gave 45 speeches and lectures on meetings of pediatric associations of Kyiv and neonatologists of Ukraine.
