Valeriy A. Pishchykov, MD, Dr. Sc., Academician of the Academy of Sciences for Higher Education of Ukraine, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Full Professor of the Department of Public Health Management of the Academy, Head of the Board of Public Health and Medical Provision of the State Directorate for Affairs.
Graduated from M. Gorky Donetsk Medical Institute, Ukrainian Academy of State Administration under the President of Ukraine. Worked as a head of ambulance and emergency care and the Central Municipal Hospital of Kramatorsk. Since 1997 he has been in leading positions in the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Kyiv City State Administration and the State Directorate for Affairs. Since 2010 he has been the Head of the Board of Public Health and Medical Provision of the State Directorate for Affairs.
Under his leadership there were developed such State Programs as "Health of the Nation", "Health of Elderly People", "Oncology", "Diabetes Mellitus", "Arterial Hypertension", "Tuberculosis" and the regional ones "Health of Kyivites", "Care" the implementation of which significantly contributed to the health of Ukrainian and Kyiv population. He is a scientific adviser of the research and practical edition "Innovations in Medicine". Being a Chief Research Worker of the Department of Scientific Organization of Health Care and Disease Prevention to the Population of the State Scientific Institution "SPC RMB” GUD (part-time) he is a scientific supervisor and adviser of the theses of the research workers.
He is currently working on the development and introduction of new medical technologies which are aimed at improving the quality of medical care to the population, in particular: "The Development of a Model of Organizational and Managerial Principles of Multifactorial Prevention of the Major Chronic Noninfectious Diseases Taking into Account Features of the Attached Persons". At the Department of Public Health Management he teaches the basics of health care organization in Ukraine and abroad.
Over the period of his work he proved himself to be a mature scholar, serious analyst of health care. Author of more than 30 publications, the most of which have been published in specialized scientific journals, including monographs, methodological manuals.
