The University’s graduates, including Ukrainian and foreign citizens, successfully work in clinics of Great Britain, Germany, France, the USA and other countries.

Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine is constantly expanding its partnerships in the field of education and science. The University has become the first in Ukraine among higher medical educational institutions collective member of the International Personnel Academy UNESCO (since 2001), a member of the European Academy of Natural Sciences (since 2008), a member of the Association of Medical Education in Europe – АМЕЕ (since 2011). 

The university is certified in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2015. It has also received the Recognized for Excellence 5-star certificate under the Recognized Excellence certification system of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).

    

In 2024, Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine was included in the QS World University Rankings 2025 for the first time.

The international scientometric database Scopus contains 520 profiles of authors who are university employees. In 2023, 356 articles were published in journals indexed by Scopus and Web of Science, and the university ranks 38th among higher education and research institutions in Ukraine by the number of publications in Scopus.

Academic staff of the University has membership in more than 60 international organizations, including the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA), International Academy of Science and Higher Education (IASHE), European Academy of Teachers in General Practice and Family Medicine(EURACT), International Informatization Academy (IIA), Section and Council for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS PRM Section and Council), etc.

There was created permanent Commission of Academic Board on International Relations, which deals with the issues of participation in the work of international organizations, exhibitions, establishing partnerships with scientific and medical institutions abroad etc.

Under the leadership of Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Cooperation Oleh Shevchenko, the members of the commission consider current issues and identify proposals for the further development of the University's international activities.

In 2017, the University joined the Magna Charta Universitatum. Employees regularly participate in webinars of the Magna Charta Observatory.

  

In 2018, Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine gained membership in ORPHEUS (the Organization for PhD Education in Biomedicine and Health Sciences in the European System). The purpose of the organization is to improve the quality of education and harmonize training programs. A total of 4 Ukrainian institutions are represented in ORPHEUS, including the.

Since 2019, the institution has been represented in the UK National Recognition Information Centre (UK NARIC). The catalog brings together higher and postgraduate education institutions from more than 190 countries that have proven their high reputation.

In 2020, the University joined the Memorandum on the Creation and Development of the All-Ukrainian Network for the  Recognition of Foreign Educational Qualifications, concluded between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the State Enterprise "Information and Image Center".

Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine cooperates with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). In 2018, the institution was visited by Graham McMahon, President and CEO of ACCME.

The departments of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine are actively involved in international programs in the field of science and education, more than 40 every year, in particular:

- NATO Support and Procurement Project "Development of a Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) Curriculum for Physicians in Ukraine";

- The Central and Eastern European Project on Primary Immunodeficiencies in Children "J-project" (university representatives are members of the steering committee);

- International Educational and Scientific Project PENTA (university representatives are experts);

- "Preparation for the International Pearson Test of English General (PTE General)" (the university is the official preparation center for PTE General);

- International Labor Organization (ILO) programs implemented in Ukraine: "Prevention of HIV/AIDS in the Workplace"; "Prevention of TB in the Workplace"; "Improving Occupational Safety and Health in the Metallurgical and Mining Industry";

- Program of the WHO European Office for the Control of Chronic Non-communicable Diseases in Ukraine (university representatives are national experts);

- International Charitable Mission, which performs cardiac surgery for children and infants with congenital heart disease in the Republic of Iraq, etc.

A high indicator of the university's international recognition is the fact that its academic staff plays key roles in international projects. In particular, the Head of the Department of Cardiology, Full Professor Maryna Dolzhenko, is a member of the International Council of the European International Preventive Cardiology Study EUROASPIRE IV and EUROASPIRE V.

Head of the Department of Functional Diagnostics, Full Professor Oleg Zharinov is a member of the International Scientific Council of the REALISE-AF trial on the treatment of atrial fibrillation.

Head of the Department of Cardiac and Major Vascular Surgery, Full Professor Vasyl Lazoryshynets is a co-organizer and coordinator of the International School of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Milan (Italy).

Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology, Full Professor Alla Volokha, Full Professor Liudmyla Chernyshova and Associate Professor Anastasiia Bondarenko are members of the organizing committee of the Central and Eastern European Project on Primary Immunodeficiencies in Children "J-project".

Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology Anastasiia Bondarenko is the main coordinator and responsible executor of the research project under the CHILDREN research program grant "Genetic landscape of severe combined immunodeficiencies in Eastern Europe". Full Professor of the Department of Family Medicine Viktoriia Tkachenko is the national coordinator of a number of international research projects of the European General Practice Research Network, the European Rural and Isolated Practitioners Association, the European Academy of Teachers in General Practice / Family Medicine, the "Vasco da Gama Movement" network, the "EQUIP" consortium, and the LESS research project of the Institute of Primary Health Care at the University of Bern (Germany) and is a member of the advisory board of the international project "Regions4PerMed".

The conditions for improving English language training and obtaining international certification in English by university employees have been created at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine. According to the cooperation agreement with the "International Examination Center" LLC (Kyiv, Ukraine), concluded in 2018, the University is the official preparation center for the international exams Pearson Test of English General (PTE General) and Pearson Test of English Young Learners (PTE YL). A person who successfully passes the Pearson Test of English exam receives a certificate in accordance with the Common European Framework of References. The training course is conducted by highly qualified teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages.

TRAINING OF FOREIGN CITIZENS

Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine provides postgraduate training for foreign citizens. They study in postgraduate programs and undergo internships.
