Diagnostic and treatment work at the Academy is carried out by more than 700 academic staff members of 71 departments and by physicians of 2 academic hospitals: Dental Practical and Training Medical Center and Ukrainian State Institute of Reproductology.
The patients receiving medical care, as a rule, belong to very complicated cases, as they have complicated course of the disease, require high-level surgical interventions. Annually, more than 230 thousand patients from all regions of Ukraine undergo treatment in healthcare settings, which are the clinical sites of the departments.
Clinical Sites
The Academy cooperates with health care institutions in 10 administrative units of the country: Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Odesa cities, as well as Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Khmelnytskyi, Lviv and Zakarpattia regions.
The delivery of health care is carried out in more than 200 clinical sites of different departmental subordination. The hospital stock of clinical sites is more than 11 thousand beds. The Academy has signed agreements on cooperation with clinical
sites of the departments, which promotes the effectiveness of relations. It also allows the staff members to use modern medical equipment of capital hospitals, in particular X-ray, endoscopic, ultrasound and other medical diagnostic and treatment facilities.
The vast majority of clinical sites (over 180) are located in Kyiv. One of the most powerful clinical sites is National Children’s Specialized Hospital «Okhmatdyt», where the doctors of 15 departments of the Academy deliver medical care to children from all over Ukraine. The largest number of clinical sites belongs to Kyiv City Children’s Hospital No.1, Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No.8, and Kyiv City Hospital No.6.
The Academy actively cooperates with 19 institutes of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine to conduct joint educational and diagnostic and treatment projects.
The biggest clinical site of the Academy is situated in Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital, where staff members of 14 departments deliver qualified medical care to the citizens of Kyiv region.
The close cooperation between academic staff and primary care centers and family medicine outpatient departments of the countryside is continued. Tertiary health care is provided to the patients of Kyiv Regional Children’s Hospital, City Clinical Hospital No.2 in Bila Tserkva, Chernivtsi Regional Oncological Dispensary.
In recent years, the Academy has closely cooperated with private-sector health care facilities.
It provides opportunities to involve into the educational process modern medical equipment and to deliver medical support in accordance with the latest world leading technologies. The largest number of clinical sites (more than 70) in private health care facilities is opened in Kyiv city, as well as in Zakarpattia, Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions. Such a principle of location of clinical sites in Ukraine significantly facilitates the availability and organization of continuous professional development.
Clinics
An important contribution to the diagnostic and treatment work of NMAPE is made by the Clinic of Reproductive Technologies (2011) of the Ukrainian State Institute of Reproductology of NMAPE. The Clinic carries out state-funded treatment of infertility using ART methods in couples with invariable indications referred by the commission of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
Annually, on average 106 couples receive quality medical care. Since 2011, the clinic has conducted about 700 IVF programs; the average percentage of pregnancy was 45%. Due to the programs more than 210 children were born.
The Dental Practical and Training Medical Center (DPTMC) was created to deliver high-quality dental care for the population and to provide conditions for educational and scientific processes at dental department.
Annually, the doctors of the Center provide medical care to more than 65 thousand patients.
The internship doctors and the students of the courses of pre-certification, thematic advanced training, specialization, practical training in Preventive Dentistry are trained at the basis of DPTMC.
