The main artery damage during the combat limits life expectancy to two minutes. Therefore, correct actions in the provision of emergency aid guarantee not only the preservation of life, but also further social adaptation.

This became a prerequisite for the development of a practical guide in the form of an atlas of accesses for combat damage to main vessels, which opens a whole scientific and practical cycle of the military surgeon's library.

The atlas of accesses for combat injuries of main vessels is the result of fruitful cooperation of scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine the head of the department, Professor Serhiy Savoliuk, and the professor of the department, Valentyn Khodos, with leading specialists of the Ministry of Health and the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy and the National Military Medical Clinical Center.

Its presentation took place on May 16-18, 2024 in Lviv at the largest specialized forum of vascular surgery of Ukraine - the annual congress of vascular surgeons, phlebologists and angiologists of Ukraine, Sukharev Readings - 2024.

The atlas lists the most common approaches from which a doctor or even a paramedic can stop bleeding in case of damage to the main vessels, thereby saving the injured person's life and creating conditions for further restoration of the artery by a vascular surgeon.

All illustrative material reflecting the description of surgical access with topographical and anatomical features to achieve the goal of the operation and the technique of layer-by-layer penetration through all tissues to the target anatomical object are accompanied by photographs from the authors' personal experience.

For the convenience of using the atlas, its electronic format is also provided for placement in a phone gadget.
