The delegation included: Professor Boris Lushniak (Rear Admiral retired, Dean of School of Public Health, University of Maryland), Professor Danylo Grigorchuk (the University of Illinois at Chicago) and Oleksandr Zvinchuk, coordinator of Ukrainian-American cooperation.
The visit was aimed at establishing the cooperation for the grant project of USAID “Health Reform Support Project”, which was the main focus of attention during the negotiations. Rector of Shupyk NMAPE, Professor Yuriy Voronenko and Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Foreign Students Research & Training, Professor Olesya Hulchiy presented the prospects of the future collaboration and the opportunities offered.
By implementing this project the USAID will contribute to building a system that serves the people of Ukraine and assures that medical professionals have the tools, knowledge, and resources to provide high quality, modern healthcare to all Ukrainians. USAID is more broadly supporting the MOH to adapt and implement an international cost-accounting system to the Ukrainian context.
