On October 19, 2017, a meeting of the reshaped permanent Commission of NMAPE Academic Board on Clinical Work was held at the clinical site of Kyiv Children’s Municipal Clinical Hospital No.1 (KCMCH No.1).
On October 19, 2017, a meeting of the reshaped permanent Commission of NMAPE Academic Board on Clinical Work was held at the clinical site of Kyiv Children’s Municipal Clinical Hospital No.1 (KCMCH No.1). There were considered different issues, including the evaluation of cooperation between the Academy’s clinical departments and KCMCH No.1.
At present KCMCH No.1 is a clinical site for 11 departments of the Academy. It should be noted that it is the main clinical site for the Department of Pediatrics No.2, Department of Children’s Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Department of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, Audiology and Phoniatrics, Department of Children’s Surgery, Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Immunology.
The Dean of Pediatric Faculty Full Professor M. Mamenko, heads of the Academy’s departments and responsible for clinical work, upper-level hospital staff, heads of the departments, doctors were invited to the meeting of the Commission.
The Head of the Commission, Vice-Rector for Clinical Work Full Professor R. Moiseienko, members of the Commission, together with the head doctor of the hospital Yu. Kozhara got familiar with the departments work, visited the training rooms and hospital units, talked to the heads of the departments, doctors and students.
Before the meeting of the Commission, the doctors had filled in the questionnaires for evaluating the level of cooperation with the departments of NMAPE. The anonymous questionnaire survey revealed current problems and the ways of strengthening the joint clinical, training and scientific work.
The members of the meeting discussed the urgent issue of improving educational process by expanding medical practice, implementing professor’s/assistant's rounds and arranging medical conferences.
This approach was suggested for further evaluation and improvement of the cooperation between the Academy’s departments and health care facilities.
The next meeting is scheduled to be held at the clinical site of the National Children’s Specialized Hospital “OKHMATDYT”.
