Research and innovation is recognized worldwide as one of the most important mechanisms of economic growth, socio-economic development and education. In recent years, they have played an especially important role both in the economy and in preserving the general health of the nation.

That is why young scientists today are the pool from which the scientific leaders of tomorrow emerge. The future scientific system of any country is being shaped today and is largely determined by the efficiency of work and the support of young talents.

To perform such tasks, the Association of Anaesthesiologists of Ukraine on September 15, 2018, within the framework of the Congress of Anaesthesiologists of Ukraine, held a competition of scientific works of young scientists.

The aim of the competition was the integration of young Ukrainian researchers into the scientific community to improve their professional and scientific level, exchange of experience in the field of medicine and the motivation of their work.

Among the nearly sixty papers, 14 of the most relevant studies were selected for participation in the competition.

The program was attended by a representative of several scientific schools and medical institutions from different regions of Ukraine (Kyiv, Dnipro, Lutsk, Kramatorsk, etc.).

Among the works that passed competitive selection, 5 was represented by the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of the NMAPE named after PL Shupyk, which accounted for more than 35% of all the works that took part in the competition.

Such figures indicate a broad and complex approach of the department to scientific research. Submitted by the department, the topic covered both applied and theoretical aspects of modern medicine.

The winner of the competition was a representative of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education named after PL Shupyk, a PhD student Taisiya Danchina (supervisor - Prof. OA Loskutov), who presented a study on the innovative direction of anesthesiology – low opioid anesthesia.

For taking the first place, T. Danchin received a grant for participation in the Euroanaesthesia-2019 congress, which will be held next year in Vienna (Austria).

The winners were awarded by the chairman of the Ukrainian Association of Anaesthesiologists, prof. SA Dubrov.

From our point of view, this competition, organized by the Anaesthesiology Association of Ukraine (the president of the association is MD Professor SA Dubrov), is an important tool to support young scientists in Ukraine.

The Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care of the NMAPE named after PL Shupyk, thanks all the organizers of the Congress of Anaesthesiologists of Ukraine and personally prof. SA Dubrov for such a topical innovation, what is the competition of scientific works of young researchers of Ukraine.
