One of the strategic goals of modernizing the domestic education system is to increase its competitiveness in the international space and integrate Ukrainian science into the European system of research activities.

Conducting joint research and development, at the present stage, is one of the most effective forms of intergovernmental cooperation. The key areas of international cooperation for the development of the scientific sector are the mobility of researchers and professionals, the involvement of leading scientists to research, the development of institutional mobility, and support of young researchers. In turn, the development of the younger generation of scientists and the "rejuvenation" of Ukrainian science are topical tasks of the development of the scientific sector.

In this regard, active work is being carried out at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, with the active and comprehensive support of the scientific sector of the Academy (supervisor - Vice-Chancellor for Scientific Work, prof. Savychuk N.O.).One of the results of such cooperation was a joint work performed by the PhD student of the department Mazurenko OP (who, according to the program of academic mobility, performs a set of scientific material in the Silezian Center for Heart Disease (Poland)) and representatives of the Polish clinic and professors of the Department of Anesthesiology (head of the department, professor Loskutov OA and professor Zgrzheblovska LV).

The work is devoted to the study of hemorrhagic and thromboembolic complications in the early postoperative period in patients with implanted left ventricle assist device and the detection of optimal anticoagulant therapy regimens. These operations are high-tech and labor-intensive and in Ukraine are only performed at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine by prof. Todurov BM. Therefore, the generalization of experience in the treatment of such group of patients undoubtedly will benefit both the Polish and Ukrainian side. The results of the joint research were prepared for publication in one of the leading Ukrainian journal. From our point of view, such a work represents not only a great scientific interest, but also is aimed at the development and stimulation of fundamental research focused on the creation of technological innovations in the medical sector.
