Scientific work is an integral part of the educational process in a modern university. It is the combination of teaching, pedagogical and scientific activities of teachers, with the involvement of clinical residents and graduate students in this process, which contributes to the formation of a scientific school and forms competent specialists.

In addition, one of the main directions in the work of the department is the formation and development of skills and research activities in students.

According to a number of authors whose work is devoted to the study of scientific and educational processes, science can be described as "... a complex, self-organizing and developing network of scientists, projects, works and ideas." At the same time, as indicated in such works, an increasing number of scientific developments are carried out in small groups, the effectiveness of which in the innovation component sometimes exceeds the research conducted by large teams.

After analyzing such organizational and recommendatory research works, at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy of the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education named after PL Shupyk, separate scientific groups were formed that include teachers, clinical interns and graduate students whose goal is to conduct research and address specific scientific issues. The work of these groups is tied to the scientific topics of the Academy and approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The results of the research data this year were sent to one of the largest European congresses, which is held by the European Association of Anesthesiologists (Vienna, Austria). Of the 7 submitted abstracts, 6 papers were accepted for the reports.

In addition, the results of joint research with Polish colleagues, this year were accepted for the report at the third international conference of the European Scientific Academy (Bonn, Germany).

These results are undoubtedly important in assessing the scientific activities of the department, and the presentation of research results at international scientific forums will undoubtedly contribute to the emergence of new ideas and the adoption of new solutions to important scientific problems and tasks.
