Reforming the health care system and quality training of medical personnel is a priority for Ukraine, as it today and in the future will contribute to improving the quality of providing medical care to citizens.

In order to prepare a specialist familiar with the problems and ways of their solution in modern anesthesiology and intensive care, the new forms of education are constantly being introduced into the educational process in the department. So, with the initiative of Professor Loskutov OA, the head of the department, and supervisors associate professors Markov YuI and Zhezher AA, for optimization of the educational process, in the beginning of February 2019, the introduction of presentations by interns in the form of Internet reviews on actual problems in anesthesiology and intensive care therapy was introduced.

In introducing these innovations, the department proceeds from the fact that the foundation of the qualification of a doctor is laid in the period of his training, but the updating of specialized information is so fast that a constant updating of the acquired knowledge is required, which is possible only in the process of continuous education. In addition, this form of training contributes to the formation of information needs of future professionals and accustom them to continuous work with scientific electronic resources.

During its existence, the department has gained considerable experience. Work on the training of residents improved from year to year. Various simulation technologies have become widely used in the residents` training, which among others include the development of practical skills on mannequins. The master classes and workshops remain quite popular among interns.

At the present stage, one of the most important strategic tasks of higher education in Ukraine is to ensure the quality of training specialists at the level of international requirements. For this purpose the department introduced the reports of residents before the lectures of the teachers of the department. Such approach mobilizes young doctors, develops communicative abilities, and promotes a responsible attitude to learning. As interns themselves point out, such approaches promote self-discipline and develop self-education skills, which is essential for day-to-day improvements in the level of professional training.
