The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of NMAPE named after PL Shupyk regularly involves experienced foreign colleagues-anesthesiologists-intensivists in the educational process. This time, on March 19, 2019, the German specialist Markus Rodemann conducted a master class in the teaching class of the department at the Kyiv Clinical Hospital of Emergency Medical Care (KCHEMC).

The master class was attended by doctors trained at the CME, as well as doctors of KCHEMC, the Heart Institute and some other hospitals of the city of Kiev (a total of about 50 doctors). Moderators were an associate professor of the department MM Pylypenko and Oksana Beisiuk, who recently graduated from the fellowship program in our Department.

The feature of the master class was that besides lighting new and progressive methods of respiratory support, some students were able to practice non-invasive ventilation on themselves. The greatest interest in the students was caused by questions regarding the ventilation techniques for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), which were elucidated in detail and discussed during the session of questions and answers. A lively discussion took place, at the end of which the audience expressed the hope that such events with the involvement of foreign speakers will be leftovered in the department and in the future, including within the cycles of thematic improvement.
