15 - 19 April 2019, The Ukraine and Central Asia Addiction Technology TransferCenter (UCA ATTC) in collaboration with the University of California San Diego(UCSD) and the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), USA started a Training of Trainers (TOT) in program «National Trainers on Substance use disorders and Co-occuring conditions».

This unique interactive format of training provided a rare opportunity for professionals working in the field of narcology and general psychiatry, psychology, infectious diseases, HIV, social work, criminal-justice to be trained by international experts and become National Trainers (NTs).The aim of this program was the training of 25 selected professionals for becoming National Trainers on Substance use disorders and Co-occuring conditions. Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Medical Psychology of the Shupyk NMAPE was represented by associate professor Chumak S.A. Intensive training was conducted during five days using didactic materials, interactive and practical exercises. At the end of the event, the trainers presented the programs for implementing the acquired knowledge and skills in a practical plane. On the basis of training materials at the Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Medical Psychology Advance Training course «Integration of current science into prevention and treatment of substance use disorders and co-occuring condition» will be developed.
