On July 01, 2019, at the Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Medical Psychology of the Shupyk NMAPE was conducted the second phase of training for psychiatrists and psychotherapists "Integration of current science into prevention and treatment of substance use disorders, HIV and co-occurring conditions " within the framework of the project «The Ukraine and Central Asia Addiction Technology TransferCenter» (UCA ATTC) in partnership with San Diego University of California (UCSD) and the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) for the acquisition of expertise by professionals and the creation of capacities to restrain the HIV epidemic  among people with drug abuse, and other target cohorts.

Associate professor of the Department Chumak S.A. presented the theoretical data and practical examples of screening and brief interventions for problematic use of alcohol and other psychoactive substances. After the training, anonymous questionnaires of the participants were conducted, the results of which showed the relevance of the topic and the interest of the students in it, as well as the need to continue this course. Accordingly, training materials for the implementation of Advance Training course "Integration of current science into prevention and treatment of substance use disorders and co-occuring condition" have been prepared.
