Master class and live endovenous surgery

Among the program cycles of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (Chief of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery - S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr.Sc., Full Professor), there is one of the most popular cycle of non-invasive surgery - non-invasive surgical techniques in phlebology.

Cause this cycle, perhaps the only one in Ukraine, familiarize students with modern innovative minimally invasive techniques of surgical treatment of the lower extremities varicose veins and its complications, namely: radiofrequency ablation, endovenous laser coagulation, sclerotherapy and the innovative technology of department -  endovenous electric biowelding.

The application of electric biowelding in the non-invasive surgery of varicose veins is one of the scientific priorities of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Shupyk NMAPE.

That is why, on July 9-11, 2019, on the invitation of a former student of the department - head of department of emergency and non-invasive surgery of "Dunai Regional Hospital" in Izmail - Letinsky G., was performed  3-day master class of live endovenous surgery.

During this 3 days, employee of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education V. Gorbovets (MD, PhD) consulted more than 30 patients and performed 15 surgical interventions for treatment of lower extremities varicose veins using endovenous electric biowelding technology.

The conducting of the master class, lively discussion and discussion after it contribute to the popularization of scientific and practical achievements of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery (Chief of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery - S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr.Sc., Full Professor) and NMAPE and cause interest and motivation for further training in the program cycles of the department.

Therefore, Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery (Chief of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery - S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr.Sc., Full Professor) will continue to apply such practicalized forms in the educational process as master classes and days of live surgery, since these forms are the most promising and effective in acquiring necessary level of practical skills and abilities and creating opportunities for filling students with program cycles of the department.
