Among the priorities for the development of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery (Chief of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery - S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr.Sc., Full Professor)) of Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, big deal is the expansion and support of an extensive network of international partnerships.

 This direction of work is realized through active participation of the staff in the work of international scientific forums, exchange and involvement of experience of leading surgical clinics of Europe during internships and support of communication with graduates of clinical residency.

Graduates of clinical residency and their further professional development are the result of training at Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of Shupyk NMAPE. This is responsibility of the staff of department and the entire NMAPE, which supports the recognition and authority at the international level, so the success of our graduates is success of the entire staff of the department and clinic of surgery and vascular surgery, headed by S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr.Sc., Full Professor), and recognition of leadership positions of Shupyk NMAPE  in the international market for postgraduate education and continuing professional development.

Ichirauli Giorgi gradueted clinical residency in 2018. He is georgian citizen who studied at Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery under the guidance of S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr.Sc., Full Professor) and O. Shulyarenko (MD, PhD, Associate Professor). After studying at NMAPE he has been working at home for a year in the Telavi, Georgia (population 25 thousand), which is located in the Alazan valley and is the capital of the Kakheti region (70 km from Tbilisi), as general surgeon in the Department of General Surgery at a regional hospital.

Our graduate, Giorgi Ichirauli, has completed training at the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of Shupyk NMAPE working in the departments of the clinic on the basis of the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital №8, received the proper training, which allowed him to fulfill the duties of the head of the department after a year of independent work. And this is a great achievement and recognition for the staff of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of NMAPE, because the knowledge, skills and experience that our graduate has received from all departments of emergency abdominal surgery, urgent and planned coloproctology and gastroenterology, herniology, oncology, minimally invasive (laparoscopic surgery), which is a scientific priority of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery, allow him to independently perform the full range of surgical interventions, including laparoscopic access, and to manage surgeons service of the whole area.

Currently, the international network is branching out. This is important and very promising area of cooperation, which will provide presentation of the Academy's best practices and involvement of abroad citizens in education, which is competitive in the postgraduate study market among the CIS countries and Europe.
