Considerable attention of the staff of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (Chief of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery - S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr.Sc., Full Professor)) is dedicated to the training of foreign students during their clinical residency.

However, after completing the training of clinical residents, their work is not stopped, but goes to a new level - the support of feedback from our graduates allows Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of NMAPE to continue further active international cooperation with those institutions where they find employment.

For example, graduate of the clinical residency 2019, Sevinj Yusifova, who was trained at the department under the guidance of S. Savoliuk (MD, Dr.Sc., Full Professor) and M. Krestianov (MD, PhD) is currently working under the direction of Professor Emin Ersoy at the Bariatric Surgery Department, which is part of the Department of Bariatric Surgery under General Surgery at Medistate Kavacik Hospital, Istanbul (Turkey).

The level of theoretical and practical training that she received during her training in Ukraine allowed her to join a surgical team that work in bariatric surgery and post-operative patient monitoring, to participate directly in surgical interventions.

Considering the scientific priorities and experience of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of NMAPE for the surgical treatment of metabolic syndrome, morbid obesity and type 2 diabetes, our department is preparing to sign a cooperation agreement between our institutions, exchange of experience and joint speeches and publications in international forums.
