According to the program of continuous training of oncosurgery and oncologists, the Ukrainian society of surgical oncology under the auspices of the European society of surgical oncology, National Cancer Institute, Ministry of Health of Ukraine, September 19-21, 2019 at the Congress Hall of the President Hotel was the IX International Congress of Oncologists presented a three-day scientific program «Advances in the surgery of Gastrointestinal Cancer with a scientific course of the modern appro aches in the Cancer immunotherapy».
The traditionally active participation in the congress was attended by the Oncologychair of National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education Named After P. Shupyk, directly with the curator of cycles in the specialty "Oncosurgery" Professor Prokip Gordiichuk and the students of the cycle of specialization in "Oncosurgery". This year, the surgical and oncological experience of evidence-based medicine from various leading cancer centers in the world was presented, namely: Temple University, Pittsburgh, USA; Ionian University College of Medicine, Seoul, South Korea; Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden; The Maria Składowska-Curie Institute, Krakow, Poland and three of Italy's leading cancer centers.
The students of the Oncosurgery chair had unique educational opportunities, to get acquainted with the theoretical substantiation and to see in a real way the execution of surgical interventions in different world centers using high-tech equipment. In real-time viewing and discussion of the seen, highly professional explanations of the benefits and unresolved issues of performing this or that stage of surgery were provided. Which is especially important educational information for cadet surgery students, since having an emphasis on issues that require improvement and research and practice in international clinics using the latest developments in robotic technology (Da Vinci Surgical System Xi) also gives our physicians, cadets to join in their study and resolution.
At the congress, the students of the chair had the opportunity to establish relations between clinicians, researchers and heads of international university clinics in Europe, the USA and South Korea, which provide an opportunity for Ukrainian doctors to get internships in the above mentioned oncology centers.
