Currently, one of the main tasks of modernizing health care is to provide training and retraining of medical personnel based on continuing professional education. One of the effective forms of such an educational process is specialized conferences and congresses.

The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education  not only organizes such forums herself, but also actively participates in similar events organized by the Association of Anesthesiologists of Ukraine.

On September 19-21, 2019, the Congress of Anesthesiologists of Ukraine was held in Kyiv, the subject of which covered various aspects of anesthesiology and intensive care (intensive therapy of critical conditions, anesthetic and intensive care of perioperative period, treatment of patients with chronic pain, etc.).

The staff of the department who made more than 10 reports actively participated in the work of this forum.

In particular, three reports were made by Professor O.A. Loskutov and Associate Professor A.M. Strokan, two - Professor OA Galushko and Associate Professor O.E. Domoratskii. Traditionally, the full room was attended by a respiratory support workshop, with Associate Professor M.M. Pylypenko.

In addition, the professors and associate professors of the department chaired many sectional meetings and participated in the discussion of the most pressing clinical issues of anesthesiology and IC, as well as continuing postgraduate specialty education.

In the future, the department plans to continue cooperation with specialized associations and departments, which will certainly contribute to improving the quality of postgraduate education of anesthetists and intensive care physicians.
