On October 10-12, 2019 in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, hosted the Congress of the European Society for Vascular Medicine, International Union of Angiology – Eurochap 2019, Central European Vascular Forum – Course 2019.

On this forum, which brought together more than 1,000 delegates from all continents of the world, Shupyk National Academy of Postgraduate Education was represented by Glagolieva A., postgraduate student of the Department of surgery and vascular surgery Shupyk NMAPE, who is carrying out the dissertation under the direction of the head of the department Prof. Savoliuk S.

The scientific program of the Congress was extremely saturated, covering all sections of modern vascular surgery with emphasis on minimally invasive and low-traumatic surgical interventions.

Among this scientific diversity, it is worth noting the great interest in the emphasis on the practical application of modern technologies in minimally invasive surgical phlebology, which is derived in the context of fast-track surgery into orbit of outpatient interventions.

The program of the 3-day practical-oriented forum consisted of theoretical (development of recommendations, protocols, classifications) and practical part (master classes, workshops), exhibitions of modern phlebological equipment and instruments, covering the whole spectrum of modern minimally invasive vein surgery, namely - the use of endovenous and transdermal laser coagulation technology, radiofrequency ablation, micro- and mini-phlebectomies, modern sclerotherapy and compression therapy to achieve high aestheticresults.

Glagolieva A., presented 2 poster reports at the congress - "Short and long-term results of high-frequency endovenous electric welding in surgical treatment of acute ascending thrombophlebitis of great saphenous vein" and "Alternative treatment of varicose disease by great subcutaneous vein obliteration using endovenous electric welding in automatic mode".

The scientific novelty of the report provoked a lively discussion and a large number of questions among the members of the organizing committee of the Congress, which allowed to obtain the necessary contacts for establishing future scientific cooperation and cooperation of the staff of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery with the leading surgical centers of Europe.

The gained knowledge, experience and current protocol recommendations will be taken into account during the writing of new training programs for students, interns and in the preparation for printing a monograph on the basics of modern minimally invasive phlebology, the work on which is almost completed by the staff of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery under the general direction of Savoliuk S.
