28 November 2019 the "Studying for the Pearson Test of English General" course got off to a good start at the Department of Foreign Languages. 5 November 2019, in partnership with Dinternal Education International Training Centre we conducted a Placement Essential Test for 18 applicants. Among those there were selected 9 people to be enrolled. The online test made it possible to assess the learners' linguistic competence on the Global Scale of English, as it included various revision tests (reading comprehension, writing skills, listening comprehension).

The course will last for 5 months and cover all of the modules. The training is carried out by our experienced teachers PhD in Education, Assistant Professor Lorena Mykhaylenko and Assistant Professor Liudmyla Palei, who participated in a great number of international academic fora, in particular in “The 3rd Forum for ELT professionals “Reforming Higher Education in Ukraine”.

It will be recalled that Pearson Test of English General (PTE) General is designed to reward positive achievement in English language learning. The test is an assessment solution as it is intended for learners of English who are speakers of other languages (ESOL). PTE General integrates all four skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) and focuses on assessing the ability of communicating in English, rather than test-taking skills.

The test consists of two parts: a written paper and a spoken test, and assesses four skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. PTE General is recognised globally by universities, employers and national education authorities as evidence of a required standard of English.
