You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.

C. S. Lewis

This international language may help our learners prepare better for their career in any field of medicine because it does not only equip them with a necessary source of social and cultural knowledge information but also gives them up-to-date data concerning certain sphere of activity, specifically medicine.

The English Speaking Club participants were invited for their last live medical English lesson of 2019 on Thursday, 19 December. The meeting key goal was to summarize the course content, review vocabulary, terms and concepts in English. Some medical phrasal verbs were introduced in a fun way. It should be noted that phrasal verbs are important in medicine, in particular within the framework of hospital and clinical subjects. For instance, “go on” is a gentle way of asking someone to continue with what they’re saying. This phrasal verb is especially useful when you want to encourage a patient to give you more information about their situation. It can also work with medical co-workers who are distraught.

The speakers’ club meeting was organized by putting each member in charge of being the group leader. Students’ responsibility and autonomy were promoted through group’s work activities. The participants could have a learning task during small interaction in group work and it was considered as a kind of their activation and was very valuable for practicing fluency in speaking.

We are thankful for the learners’ devotion to participate in these meetings and grow as health professionals!

We are looking forward to the upcoming medical English event announcements!
