Despite the difficult and unpredictable quarantine conditions of today, the staff of the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education continues to work hard and actively, fulfilling all the tasks set before the staff of the department.

Among the "quarantine" achievements, the good news is the publication of the scientific monograph "Innovative minimally invasive technologies in the surgical treatment of chronic diseases of the lower extremity veins" (author's team - Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Full Professor, MD Savoliuk S.; Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, MD Hodos V.; PhD, MD Gorbovets V.; PhD, MD Muse M.; post-graduate student, MD Gerashchenko R.), which is a generalization of the departmental experience (10000 examined and more than 2500 operated patients) of the use of modern endovenous surgical methods - laser coagulation, radiofrequency ablation, electrowelding and adhesive obliteration, puncture sclerotherapy in the treatment of varicose veins disease and its complications.

Modern surgery requires the introduction of innovative minimally invasive and low-traumatic surgical technologies that provide fast postoperative rehabilitation and recovery, a comfortable return to the usual lifestyle against the background of high postoperative quality of life. Therefore, the purpose of the scientific monograph was the introduction of technologies of fast track surgery, which allows to bring surgical treatment of the lower extremities varicose veins into the orbit of outpatient surgery, reducing the length of stay in a hospital to 1 day and providing high rates of postoperative quality of life, which corresponds to the postoperative quality of life. This is current world surgical trends, standards and protocols.

The basis of the monograph, which is practically indicative, is the most common questions of the students of Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery Shupyk NMAPE during the program cycles of thematic improvement "Minimally invasive methods in phlebology", "Sclerotherapy of chronic diseases of the lower extremity veins", "Endovenous electric welding in surgery of varicose veins and its complications".

Active feedback from program cycles listeners makes it possible to create a modern educational and methodological framework for supporting program cycles that are in high demand among practitioners of both public and private health care institutions.
