Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine is constantly striving to cooperate with various public organizations and specialized associations to expand practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of anesthesiology and intensive care. Great emphasis in this regard is placed on conducting practical training among doctors and students of various Ukrainian medical universities.

Currently, it is indisputable that simulation-based training is one of the most important steps in education. In such training, built based on modeling of clinical scenarios is used, which allows us to acquire clinical skills through practice.

This time, the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, together with the public organization UAMED (head – M. Todurov) conducted clinical trainings for 26 students and interns of Ukrainian medical universities. The geography of the participants included both students from Kyiv and Kyiv region, as well as representatives of medical institutions from Lviv, Volyn region, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Kharkiv, etc.

The classes included a basic theoretical course on the basic manipulations of maintaining vital activity and practical classes on puncture and catheterization of central veins, the basics of endotracheal intubation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation. 

Each participant was able to master basic skills in an eight-hour lesson, which, in their opinion, will help in the future not only to improve the quality of medical care, but also to chose further specialization.
