In the first days of 2022, a welcome event took place for all those who love the history of medicine, in particular the guide “Calendar of Significant Dates and Events in Anesthesiology and Medicine of Emergency” was published. Oleksandr Halushko, Full Professor of the Department of Family Medicine and Outpatient Care of the Institute of Family Medicine of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, became the author of the idea, compiler and editor of the publication.

The calendar contains information on significant and memorable dates in the history of anesthesiology, intensive care, acute and emergency medicine. The publication presents the main historical milestones in chronological order which led to the emergence and development of these areas of practical medicine. The guide is unique, in that it is the first edition of this type in Ukraine. Readers are presented with 248 pages of interesting, and sometimes witty and unexpected information about various historical milestones in the development of emergency medicine from ancient times to the present day.

The guide is intended for anesthesiologists, intensive care doctors, emergency doctors, general practitioners, as well as all specialists in other fields who are interested in the history of medicine. It is planned to present the book at the next scientific and practical conference of the Institute of Family Medicine of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.
