A new clinical base of the Department of Ophthalmology of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, Medical Center VERUM KIDS, has started working, where training rooms for interns and students of cycles of thematic improvement and specialization have been created.

In addition, the medical center combines the latest diagnostic equipment, operating room, the latest methods of treatment of eye diseases and the experience of the best specialists, which allows students of the Department of Ophthalmology to improve their skills and gain new knowledge in ophthalmology.

The Medical Center VERUM KIDS employs employees of the Department of Ophthalmology of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine – Head of the Department, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Sergiy Rykov, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Iryna Shargorodska, Doctor of Medicine, Associate Professor Yurii Barinov, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Natalya Lavryk, well-known specialists in the field of diagnosis and treatment of refractive errors, diagnosis and treatment of pediatric ophthalmopathology, inflammatory diseases of the eye, oncoophthalmology, minimally invasive ophthalmic surgery, diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma retina, traumatic eye injuries.

We need to remember that in order to detect and prevent the development of ophthalmic diseases in a timely manner, we need to be examined annually by an ophthalmologist. Children need to be examined by a pediatric ophthalmologist according to the protocol in 3-4 months, 1 year, 3 years, 6 years, and then the recommended annual ophthalmological examination.
