From 01.02.2022 at the Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Medical Psychology of the National Educational Institution of Ukraine named after P.L. Shupyk will host a new budget cycle "Specialization in psychiatry". The duration of the cycle training will be one year.

The specialization cycle will address issues of general pathopsychology, methods and principles of diagnosis of mental illness of neurotic and psychotic registers, basic nosological units, modern approaches to medical and psychotherapeutic treatment of mental illness, emergencies in psychiatry, prognostic assessment of mental disorders.

Particular attention will be paid to modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of psychotic states, disorders of organic origin, as well as depression and panic-phobic disorders. Stages of treatment will be considered separately: relief of acute conditions, stabilizing and supportive therapy. There will be master classes on various psychotherapeutic techniques, as well as training in clinical interview skills.

The cycle is aimed at mastering modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders on the basis of evidence-based medicine.
