The staff members’ scientific effort focuses on the actual issues of anesthesiology, intensive care and clinical toxicology.

In 2008 the following department's research work was approved: “Studying Principal Clinical and Physiological Disturbances Caused by Trauma, Infection and Intoxication and Developing Optimal Intensive Care and Anesthetic Technologies for Critically Ill Patients” (scientific supervisor – Full Professor I. P. Shlapak).

The scientific manpower is trained at the regular and correspondent postgraduate courses, master's courses and clinical residency at the department.
