The Department of Cardiology mainly focuses on the development of new diagnostic and medical methods in order to improve survival in patients with coronary artery disease as the most widespread cardiovascular pathology.
The purpose of the research is to improve early diagnosis and treatment in the patients with coronary artery disease as a common cardiovascular pathology by studying the risk factors for the onset and progression of left ventricular dysfunction and its recovery after surgery (coronary artery stenting and coronary artery bypass surgery), studying the influence of left ventricular myocardial function disorders upon clinical course of the disease, developing diagnostic and prognostic criteria for myocardial dysfunction with the help of new technologies; grounding individual, group, regional and sectoral programs of prevention, methods of early diagnosis and preventive therapy; developing clinical protocols and guidelines.
