Yuriy V. Voronenko, MD, Dr. Sc., Full Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Acting Member of the Academy of Sciences for Higher Education of Ukraine, the European Academy of Natural Sciences, the Academy of Medical Sciences of Poland and the Albert Schweitzer World Academy of Medicine, Honorary Science and Technology Worker of Ukraine, Winner of the State Prize in Science and Technology of Ukraine.
In 1973 he graduated from Kyiv Medical Institute (O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University). Started his professional life as a postgraduate student and a lecturer, continued it as an Associate Professor, and went on to hold the position of Full Professor and the Head of the Department of Social Medicine. In 1991 he defended doctoral thesis “Social and Hygienic Fundamentals of Prevention and Treatment of Burns”.
1995-2002 – Head of the Chief Management Department of Education, Science and Informational and Analytical Provision of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Assisted the design of the public health development projects, decrees of the President of Ukraine, resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Participated in a great many international forums under the aegis of the WHO, programs on international cooperation, international scientific conferences.
Author and co-author of more than 400 scientific publications: 11 text-books, 25 scientific and methodological manuals, 38 monographs. Supervisor of theses (12 doctoral and 8 PhD).
Lines of investigation: theory and practice of social hygiene, management of public health, medical education, medical standards and law.
