Present Department of Medical Informatics provides above twenty courses of postgraduate education annually. Every 5 years the staff of the department develops and issues the updated Unified Programme in medical informatics and cybernetics in health care and postgraduate training of doctors and pharmacists. The last issue of the unified programme was in 2012 entitled "Medical informatics, cybernetics, pedagogy and psychology in health care and medicine". The list of advanced training courses is renewed annually.

The following main courses of advanced training (the duration is 0.5 and 1 month) are conducted at the department: "Modern aspects of training with the use of information technologies", "Information technologies of image processing in medicine", "Mathematical methods of information processing", "Personal computing in medical practice", "Evidence-based medicine", "Information aspects of the knowledge impart at the continuing professional development of doctors and pharmacists", "Internet in health care and practical medicine", "Electronic medical documentation and the process of electronic medical passport system", "Theory and technology of training", "The basics of theory and methods of professional education", "Distant learning in medicine", "Information technologies in pharmacy", "Continuing medical education of doctors and pharmacists in the context of Bolognese process", "The psychology of the knowledge impart". 

The courses at the department are meant for the following contingent of students: heads of the health care institutions, doctors of different specialities, pharmacists, teachers of medical (pharmaceutical) higher educational institutions and institutions of postgraduate education, scientific workers and technicians-and-engineers of the information and analytic centres of the health care system.

According to the individual programmes and curricula there is conducted the training of postgraduate students, masters, interns.

There is possible a state-supported training at all the courses of the department. There are implemented full-time and nonresident courses with the elements of distant education, masterclasses, trainings.

The department is equipped with up-to-date personal computers; it has two networkable computer classrooms, two classrooms for lectures, special lecture hall for video conferencing lectures and seminars.

4) main clinical sanatorium "Orliatko" (Eaglet) (Yevpatoria);

5) scientific educational and methodological centre of distant education on the base of the National Children's Specialized Clinic "OkhMatDyt".
