The State Educational and Methodical Geriatric Centre of Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education was founded in 2012 according to the Decree of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. 

The State Educational and Methodical Geriatric Centre is a structural subdivision of the Institute of Family Medicine. The main task of the State Educational and Methodical Geriatric Centre is to organize and carry out teaching, educational and methodological work on postgraduate geriatric training of the interns, residents, doctors as well as nurses, social workers and volunteers by conducting pre-attestation courses, special subject courses, subject advanced training courses, study courses and other types of full-time and distance studies. 

The State Educational and Methodical Geriatric Centre is part of the State Institution“ D. F. Chebotarev Institute of Gerontology of NAMS of Ukraine” and Kyiv City Hospital for Disabled Veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
