Information technologies are becoming increasingly important in the modern world, and the exchange of data received requires less and less effort. To a certain extent, education has moved from lecture halls and classrooms to their informational prototypes: platforms, websites, databases.
An equally important place where you can get new knowledge and information is social networks.
According to GlobalLogic, during the quarantine, the Ukrainian audience of social networks increased by seven million people. Now almost 60% of the population of Ukraine uses certain social networks. As the audience increases, the demand for an educational information product also increases. The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine publishes information about its work on its own website and official pages in such popular social networks and platforms as Instagram Youtube, Telegram, and Facebook. In addition, for more than a year, the staff of the Department headed by Professor Oleg Loskutov has been introducing a wide medical audience to topical issues of anesthesiology, intensive care, and medicine in general on the pages of Likarskyi Osvitniy Portal (the medical educational portal) with almost 12 thousand subscribers.
Social networks are an excellent platform for publishing research results and sharing experiences and an excellent marketing tool. It is often difficult to choose high-quality relevant content among the abundance of opportunities for continuing medical education. Therefore, pages in well-known networks for doctors are another way to inform potential students about a particular educational service (lecture, master class, cycle of thematic improvement, etc.).
For example, 10 days before the start of the cycle of thematic improvement "Acquisition of practical skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation" (Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, May 11—25, 2021), only 20% of the planned number of students agreed to study on the cycle. And immediately after the publication of information in the social network (2.9 thousand views only on Facebook), another 80% of listeners registered for the cycle. This case is further evidence of the great potential of social network pages as educational and marketing platforms.
The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine invites colleagues to join educational platforms, where they will continue to publish interesting content on topical issues of Medicine:
