The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care took part in the XX International Scientific and Practical Conference "Trends in the Development of Medical Libraries in Ukraine and Challenges of the Modern Information Society", which was held on May 19, 2021, in the National Scientific Medical Library of Ukraine (NSMLU).
The forum was organized by NSMLU, the Scientific Library of Uzhgorod National University, and the Section of medical library workers of the Ukrainian Library Association. The event was held online and off-line.
The conference was opened by Acting General Director of NSMLU, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine T. Ostapenko, who noted that nowadays the main goal of medical libraries is adapting quickly and doing everything possible to ensure that doctors, scientists, students feel concerned about providing them with the latest information on time.
Distinguished guests of the conference Professor O. Bogomolets, Adviser to the ambassador of the Republic of Poland Eva Matuszek-Zagata, Professor M. Badyuk, President of the Ukrainian Library Association O. Bruy addressed the conference participants with welcoming words. Welcome speech from the rector of Uzhgorod National University, professor V. Smolanka was read out by the Director of the Scientific Library of Uzhgorod National University M. Medved. On behalf of the readers of NSMLU, Associate Professor of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine Yu. Markov congratulated the conference participants. At the same time, the staff of NSMLU was presented with the publication "The pages of the History of Anesthesiology of Ukraine" edited by the Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Professor O. Loskutov.
Presentations were made by Professor I. Pasko, President of the Union "Ukrainian Association of Publishers and Book distributors" O. Afonin, director of the Main Library of Warsaw Medical University Irmina Utrata; doctor, medical historian Krzysztof Krulikowski, representatives of medical and non-medical libraries of Ukraine, etc.
As a result of the Forum, a resolution was adopted and hopes for new professional meetings and live communication were voiced.
