Organizing a youth conference in the educational space of Ukraine is becoming not just an interesting initiative, but also a necessary step in the life of Ukrainian medical community. The youth conference promotes the professional development of interns and novice doctors, which is especially important in the current conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thanks to cooperation with the youth center of the European Association of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, our conference was attended not only by delegates from Ukraine, but also from the countries of the European Union. 379 participants were registered.

Attracting a large number of domestic and foreign delegates allows us to increase the level of knowledge of future anesthesiologists. About 50 lecturers and moderators of master classes from Ukraine and 15 foreign speakers (Great Britain, the USA, Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Germany, South Africa) took part in MAC-VI.

Integration into the international information space, especially in the context of close cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, is of paramount importance for the development of our medicine.

Also, it should be noted that within the framework of the conference, for the third time in Ukraine, a simulation Olympiad was held (a team of interns of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine won) and an Olympiad in infusion therapy. The winners of which were Denys Paliokha (I place), Vladyslav Krykun (II place) and, Mykola Melnychenko (III place). Among the reports of young scientists, the best performances were done by Stepan Maruniak (I place), Stanislav Shkolnyi (II place), Kateryna Denysiuk (III place).

A special achievement of the conference is not only the theoretical but also the practical orientation of its work. Every year, the number of masterclasses increases, which allows us to improve the practical level of MAC participants.

The interdisciplinarity of the conference contributes to the development of not only anesthesiologists but also doctors of other specialties. So, within the framework of the conference, schools of Clinical Toxicology and Medical Genetics were held. The last was conducted together with leading geneticists from the United States.

According to many participants, such an educational initiative of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care is a significant contribution to the training of young specialists in Ukraine.
