Training of interns-physicians of the Department of Oncology during 2020-2022 took place in a coronavirus pandemic, which required changes in organization and methodology of the educational process. Guided by the instructions of the administration of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine and paragraph 2 of the Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for № 698 from 23.03.2020, employees of the Department were able to fully provide training for interns-physicians in "Clinical Oncology".
Using a mixed form of training, offline and online, on full-time and part-time internships, interns studied the features of dispensary, outpatient and inpatient management of cancer patients with different localization of malignant neoplasms. Monthly thematic seminars were held, at which the interns-physicians have presented multimedia presentations, followed by discussions by staff of the Hospital Departments, the Heads of Specialized Departments, leading experts on the topic of the report, their analysis was performed with decision-making.
During their studies, graduates participated in conducting of clinical trials under international multicenter randomized trials, participated in the XIV Congress of Oncologists and Radiologists of Ukraine, spoke at the All-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference for young scientists YOUNG SCIENCE 2.0, organized by the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.
The mixed form of education was introduced at the Department with active use of Viber mobile messenger and ZOOM program, what have enabled, managed and controlled the implementation of a comprehensive approach to the formation of a competent specialist in Clinical Oncology, deep mastery of professional knowledge and skills according to plan and program of the cycle.
The Department wished the graduates dedication to the specialty, continuous professional development and expressed readiness to participate in their further improvement. In their speeches, the graduates of the internship have expressed their gratitude to the teachers of the Department and bases of correspondence in internships, to the whole staff of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine for the acquired knowledge.
Young specialists in Clinical Oncology 2022 are optimistic about the prospects of their further professional development, continuous postgraduate studies in cycles of thematic improvement and master classes in the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine.
