The first of the renewed cycles of thematic improvement "Precancerous and tumorous diseases of the esophagus" was successfully held at the Department of Oncology from 12 to 26 of May, 2022.
Despite the martial law, the cycle have gathered 24 students working in oncology, general practice, family medicine, oncosurgeon, endoscopy, general and thoracic surgery. The course was conducted according to the updated plan and program, which provides in-depth study of prognostic and predictive factors for esophageal diseases, their molecular biological diagnosis, immune-mediated and targeted treatment. The students of the series were additionally given a lecture on military medicine on the issues of thoracic penetrating trauma.
During lectures and seminars, students showed interest in current issues of early histo-pathological and molecular biological verification of malignant processes, multidisciplinary management of patients, their primary routing and the choice of cancer treatment. The content of the classes included elements of interactivity, and was marked by consistency in the study of problems of precancerous and tumor diseases of the esophagus. The issues of implementation of high-tech developments in practice were covered, as well as the readiness of specialists for individual and collective innovation activity were considered.
During the classes, students learned about the practical aspects of the fruitful work of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine on the implementation of a new program of continuing professional education of doctors, which helps them to receive quality training and retraining, and timely replenish their educational portfolio.
