The teaching members of the department conduct the research in different directions of oral and maxillofacial surgery: the diseases of salivary gland, inflammatory process of maxillofacial area (MD, PhD I. B. Kindras and MD, PhD S. V. Maksymcha); the diseases of salivary gland, neurologic diseases of maxillofacial area (MD, PhD O. P. Vesova); fractures of lower jaw, dental implantology and surgical periodontics (MD, PhD V. V. Kaminsky); tumors and neoformations of maxillofacial area (MD, PhD N. O. Ushko); dental implantology and surgical periodontics (MD, PhD O. M. Vakhnenko). All the staff members of the department are doctors of the highest category.
Full Professor O. O. Timofyeyev is involved into the investigation of the following areas: nonneoplastic diseases and tumors of salivary glands, jaws and soft tissues; traumatic injuries of the tissues of maxillofacial area and their complications; dental implantation; deformation of jaw and soft tissues; plastic and aesthetic surgery and others.
Scientific developments of Full Professor O. O. Timofyeyev and staff members of the department are publiched in the materials of international conferences, which took place in the USA, England, Germany, France, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Italy, Spain and many other countries.
For great contribution into health care and high-quality work, which is widely recognized by European specialists, Full Professor O. O. Timofyeyev was awarded a Diploma of European Quality and Gold Medal by the European Chamber of Science and Industry in 2013.
