We sincerely congratulate Professor Vadym Kryzhevsky, Head of the Department of General and Emergency Surgery, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, with the inclusion of his biography in the VII volume of the presentation edition "Scientists of Ukraine - the Elite of the State", which publishes the names of outstanding scientists for their high professionalism, significant scientific achievements achievements, conscientious work, an active public position and a significant contribution to ensuring the development and prosperity of the state.
From 1985 to 1996 year he worked at the Kyiv Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Surgery under the guidance of his teacher, academician of the National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Medical Sciences O.O. Shalimov in the position of surgeon of the Department of Liver Vascular Surgery. In 1996, Vadim Vitaliyovych became one of the founders of the first private surgical clinic "Biopharmtech" in Ukraine, where he worked in positions ranging from surgeon, head of the surgical department to director of the clinic (1999-2008).
In 2008 Kryzhevskyi was appointed to the post of chief physician of the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 6, where he works to this day. From 2009 to today, he has been working part-time as an associate professor, professor, and since 2015, head of the Department of General and Emergency Surgery of the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (now the National University of Health Care of Ukraine) named after P.L. Shupyka, where he gives lectures, operates, educates young scientists-surgeons.
Vadym Kryzhevsky is a surgeon of the highest category, known in the surgical circles of our country and abroad, a conscientious worker, a highly qualified organizer of health care, a doctor and a teacher. He also has a higher category in health care management. On June 18, 2011, he received the honorary title "Honored Doctor of Ukraine". For 2 years (2013-2015) he performed the duties of the City Chief Surgery Specialist in Kyiv.
In 2003, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Surgical treatment of necrotic pancreatitis" under the scientific advisory guidance of his teacher, Academician O.O. Shalimova. In this work, he formulated new approaches and methods of diagnosis and surgical treatment of one of the most complex and very dangerous diseases of modern medicine. In recent years alone, 4 monographs, 2 textbooks, 58 scientific articles (5 in English) have been published,
10 patents have been obtained, 17 speeches and presentations have been made at national and international conferences, congresses and congresses, including in English (Germany , Austria, Greece, Turkey, Poland and others).
In 2012, a educational monograph for doctors "Intestinal Obstruction" was prepared and published, which received the First Prize of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine for the best guide for students and doctors.
Vadym Vitaliyovych is fluent in English and actively cooperates with the Ukrainian-European Center for the Scientific Development of Medicine. He is a co-author of foreign monographs published in 2020-2022 in English: "Conceptual options for the development of medical science and education". In 2021-2022, he takes an active part in the work of the scientific-pedagogical Ukrainian-European program "European directions for the development of practical training of medical personnel and implementation of world education standards" with presentations in English "Surgical treatment of acute intestinal obstruction in the city specialized hospital and university center".
Kryzhevskyi is a valid member of the Association of Surgeons of Ukraine, a member of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine, the Department of Medicine, and numerous other domestic and international organizations. His research and clinical interests include minimally invasive and laparoscopic operations on the biliary tract, liver, pancreas, stomach and intestines for acute and chronic obstruction and peritonitis. He is developing new modern methods of treating surgical infection, and most recently he has had to deal with surgical treatment of gunshot wounds and performing surgical operations on our soldiers brought to the hospital from combat areas, as well as performing emergency surgeries on patients with COVID19.
Vadym Kryzhevsky has many new ideas for the future development of medicine and surgery. A plan for a new modern hospital has already been developed and approved for construction. Professor Kryzhevsky's life motto is "not to stop at what you have achieved".
