The first concilium in the new year took place on January 20th, organized by the cardiology department at Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine. The event featured the first optional sessions for doctors from all over Ukraine on "Concilium of experts in comorbid conditions."
The online event in real-time was particularly interesting for family doctors, pulmonologists, cardiologists, and therapists. Such sessions are conducted for educational purposes, introducing new diagnostic possibilities for doctors and facilitating the exchange of clinical experience.
The meeting began with a presentation by Dr. Yaroslav Dziublyk, D.Sc., senior researcher at the National Institute of Phthisiology and Pulmonology named after F.G. Yanovsky of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, on "Criteria for Pharmacotherapy of COPD According to GOLD 2024 Recommendations." The importance and detail of the material presented were challenging to characterize, but as attendees noted, it served as a professional school for learning COPD treatment. The speaker presented the latest recommendations on this matter and addressed delicate issues related to COPD treatment.
The "highlight" of the meeting was the clinical examination of the patient who was present at the conference. Doctors could ask questions about the patient`s complaints, medical history, and treatment. The most interesting aspect was the opportunity to express opinions about the patient's complaints, leading to a refinement of the diagnosis and treatment.
The clinical examination of the patient with a heart rhythm disorder and associated diseases began with the participation of Tetyana Simagina, Ph.D., assistant of the cardiology department at Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, who is the attending physician of the invited patient. The consultants were: Professor, Doctor of Medicine, Head of the Department of Cardiology of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine Maryna Dolzhenko, Head of Educational and Natalia Bilousova, head of educational and methodological work at the pharmacy department of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine . The discussion also covered the role of clinical pharmacists in patient treatment and issues related to the evidence base of pharmaceuticals in the pharmacist's work.
Special thanks were expressed to all doctors for their active participation in the online communication.
